Popcaan finally has his US visa
After years of touring everywhere except America, Popcaan has been granted a US visa. The news broke on 11 October 2026, and the Unruly Boss has since touched down in Miami for the first time in his career.

The gap in the map
For most of his career Popcaan has played the UK, Canada, Europe and Africa while the US stayed closed. He was billed for Red Bull Culture Clash in Atlanta in 2017, and his team pulled out the day before because his travel documents had not been processed in time. In 2023 he asked publicly why he could travel everywhere else but not to America.
For an artist signed to Drake's OVO Sound, that was a strange gap to carry.
What his camp is saying
His sister, Annalecia “Unruly Squid” Sutherland, told The Shade Room that America has a huge audience that loves and supports him, and that the team is working to make his next chapter bigger. She also said the album is close.
On the heels of the rest
Popcaan's visa comes on the heels of a run of reinstatements that has put dancehall's export to the US market in full swing:
- May 2024
Buju Banton back in the US. - 2024
Sizzla's visa and work permit reinstated. - Dec 2024
Beenie Man's visa restored. - Jan 2025
Vybz Kartel's visa reinstated, with Barclays Center following in April. - Mar 2025
Bounty Killer back for the first time in 15 years.
What isn't announced yet
There are no US dates, no venues, and no album title or release date. Treat any flyer you see before an official announcement as rumour.
